It's always the consort that gets the love or hate. Catherine of Aragon was loved in England that even Queen of Mary of Teck ordered a renovation of her tomb. Marie Antoinette on the other hand received all the hate when in fact it was his husband and his advisors that should be blamed. The French people also paid because of trust issues, they ended up killing one another and it took so long before Napoleon came to the scene.
This show should be called Becoming Tudors.
Someone in the comments said about MT being a bad mother but I know from actual sources that she wasn't. While there might be disagreements with the family but they're not dysfunctional either. MT and Franz relationship with their children seems more bonded than Ferdinand and Isabella. The emphasis of children becoming pawns didn't have a heavy emphasis here unlike before, I guess it's because MT learned from the monarchs that came before her.
Por jane was a toy for them
Love all scenes with Mary. She took the show to rule it
Mary owns all her scenes its Just oustanding
And from Victoria and Albert descend the great majority of the monarchs of Europe, amongst them Felipe VI of Spain and Charles III of England.
And in the end, Paul was assassinated in a conspiracy in which his son, Alexander I, may or may have not participated.
I am no history buff at all, but what I see from this series is that Maria Theresia was headstrong enough to get to marry the man she loves, while she herself then makes her children marry whom she finds is the best political match.
He was never the same after Siggy died.
Wo kann ich die Staffel schauen?
I wish this came in English. I don't read that fast.
Allianzen die Österreich nichts als ärger einbringen würden (Frankreich: Revolution, Napoleon )😂😂😂😂, also Bismarckische Außenpolitik war das Hier nicht wirklich
oh good detail of keeping Marie Antoinette's childhood pet dog also was the Emperor Francis's mother that detestable??? last question, which streaming platform is this hosted?
Perhaps that mistress was lucky it was Maria Theresia not Joanna of Castile lol.
Finally a historical television show in which nobody has a British accent
How did they do a coronation for his consort?
They didn't, his wife never set foot in the Holy Roman Empire, she lived in Spain during their marriage.
Good lord I didn’t know Chinese cresteds could get that big.
For the Record: its no accident that Maria Theresas daughters maried the Bourbon Princes after Francis I. Stephens death.
Of course it is no accident. They were not of marrying age before Francis's death. The first Bourbon-Habsburg marriage was Leopold and his Spanish bride in 1765, just right before Francis died. The girls were younger, their Bourbon marriages happened in 1769 and after.
@@Lily1127channel and because Francis I refused to allow it. The sons were rather different.
@@christoffellner84 No he did not refuse it. There is no historical evidence that would suggest that. Why would he refuse something that was completely normal back then? Why would he allow arranged marriages for his sons but not for his daughters?
Where can I watch season 3?

How many times in history are women regardless of low or High born status needed reminder of their duties
Less times than men 😉
Maria Theresa brilliant ruler but damn the mother from hell! Francis such an awesome dad! In many of the children’s biographies it states that he loved all his children and they loved him, especially Carolina and Antoinette.
No, MT was not a bad mother. This tv series exaggerates a lot of things and it portrays many things inaccurately. She is portrayed as a much worse person and mother than she was irl. She was not so cold when it came to her children, on the contrary, she got very very emotional a lot of times. She was a very attentive mother who cared a lot for her children, but she also had the responsibility of an empire, millions of people, not just 16 children. She did not have the same luxury as Francis, who could be a 100% parent and did not have to make such hard decisions for the empire as MT had to. That being said, Francis was an awesome dad, especially by 18th century standards, he seems like a 21st century dad from the historical records.
0:30 And that kids, is how I met your mother…
what movie is at 5 minute mark???
Jane Eyre (1970)

The medieval equivalent to watching a basket ball game
Louis XI 💪
What film is this?
It is a Spanish tv series, 'Carlos, rey emperador'.
It's a pity when a child turns out rotten
yeah great game of thrones moment
Wow its already 1770?
No, it can't be, because Francis Stephen died in 1765. Though Marie Antonette should not be so grown up yet. The timeline is a bit off in the series.
@Lily1127channel Yes it is because Marie Antonias marriage plans only began being discussed in 1768
@@N.A.S101 Exactly. The series is also inaccurate because it showed in earlier clips that French marriage plans were already discussed for a little Marie Antoinette who seemed about 4-5 years old in those clips. It is far too early. Especially that in those same clips we see a beautiful teenager Maria Elisabeth, and Maria Theresia also speaks about that Elisabeth also has some suitors. That is also completely wrong, because Elisabeth was the first one who was chosen for a French marriage alliance. Only when poor Lieserl got smallpox and her face became scarred and no longer beautiful did Maria Theresa start to consider another daughter of hers for a French alliance. But as long as Elisabeth was pretty and well, it was her mainly who was considered for the French plans. This is something this tv series doesn't show correctly.
@@Lily1127channel Johanna and Josepha would have also been dead by now lol

Amazon Prime
I advise you to look into everything Maria Theresia did as a monarch very closely before declaring her your favourite 😂
@MichielBLKorte I've read many books about her it's through this my admiration grew I know she did some shady stuff but so did many other monarchs she's a great female monarch one of the best in my opinion
@@MichielBLKorte She is actually the favourite of many, including historians 🤷♀
If only Maria Antonia ( Marie Antoinette ) had listened to her mother then she wouldn’t have had lose her head and her life.
tbf Antonia & Carolina were terrors in their own right and had to be separated from each other (they roomed together and were the most close, hence why after the guillotine Carolina's judgment became clouded and led to her own downfall) also court life in Austria was a bit lighter than that of France and Antonia had a hard time adjusting
Nah, the one who was rulling france was her husbaand and his advisors , she was just an excuse
@@GitanAnimexThank you! She was a way to blame France’s problems on someone who wasn’t French, but everyone who brought France to that state was French.
I did not expect the "frog leg" thing.
It’s surprising that Marie Antoinette grown up already
Yeah, she shouldn't be. She was 10 when her father died.
As for Marianna, she contracted pneumonia for those years so, Maria Theresa didn’t marry her with anyone and she became abbess
That little boy is Maria Theresa last child, Maximilian Francis, who was Grand Master of the Teutonic Order and Archbishop and Elector Of Cologne
Maria Theresa wants an alliance with the Bourbons, that means with the French, the Spanish, The Neapolitan and the Parmesan.
Disgracefully, Johanna and Josepha died young because of smallpox
Finally, she mentions the seven years war.
The stories of both Edward V and Edward VI were tragic.
Будет интересно посмотреть как Мария-Анутанетта была еще в Австрии. Интересно покажут тут встречу с Моцартом.
I wonder if Maria Antoinette's mother instructed her on 🤫all things "marital". Louis XVI was clearly woefully unprepared 🤭😅.
@@janehollander1934 There are letters from her where she tells her daughter what to do. I remember seeing it in a documentary.
It took Emperor Joseph's visit in France in 1777, seven years into their marriage, to finally succeed and make them both understand what they had to do.
